Western "Boss" Bib

After I complete an unfinished project, I like to add a quick project of my choosing into the mix. I don't make many boy items, and baby Ben is coming over tomorrow, so I thought I'd sew him up a couple bibs.

I found this wonderful piece of western style fabric in my stash. I have a limited amount, so I thought it might make a few cute bibs. Thought about putting an applique star with Sheriff, but found this embroidery file in my catalog and thought ..... Boss, was the way to go.

It's all in the details ..... right? Edges are double topstitched, a pocket for catching various fumbled foods, and it's reversible. (Turn it over and flip the pocket). The Western print is a good quality cotton, backed with soft french terry, and sandwiched inside is a layer of cotton batting.

Quick fun project .... need to make another boy bib to have for Ben tomorrow.

Little Ben's Bumper Pads

OK, so this has a very long story to go with it .... I offered to make his bedding after we found out she was pregnant. I owed her a big one, we bartered. My friend said thanks but no thanks. I offered to help again, we did some sewing 1 day (I got the crib bedskirt made that day). We tried to unsucessfully schedule another sew day. She had the baby, and an incomplete nursery set. Little Ben was born with a broken heart, literally. He's all fixed up and growing like a weed now, almost 3 months. I visited them about a month and a half ago and saw that the bedding was getting there, but not finished. I offered to take it home and finish it. I got side tracked by other projects and committments.

Anyway, she did her own thing. It's wonderful ..... She took a neutral fabric and made her color splashes in the outline of Winnie the Pooh heads (she likes the traditional and was not happy with the Pooh choices out there). We put double-sided adhesive to apply them and then she outlined all the heads with a running stitch. It's going to be so cute when Ben FINALLY gets his crib bedding!

Now on to finish the binding on his quilt!

Boyd's Bear Flannel Gift Set

Student teaching and grandbabies took up all my "extra" time the past couple months. It's not that I haven't been sewing, it's just that this is the part I have a love/hate relationship with. I love sharing this with all of you, (putting it out there so to speak) but writing, picture taking/editing/resizing/filing is for the birds. I'm just not well-rounded on the administrative side. Anyway ....
I have been sewing up a storm the past few months and I'm making it a point to get the pics and info out here.

We LOVE our Biblets! These unique, cute, convenient & useful 1/2 burp clothes with chenille trimmed neckline are well used around my daughter's house.

I had this beautiful soft Boyd's Bears flannel in my stash. A few months ago I cut it to make a receiving blanket along with strips for ruffles on the bottom of the biblet.
Decided to leave it blank .... cute as is or personalize ....

Love Bears!
