One more Zoo (jungle) Girls Outfit

You can see I really had fun with this fabric. The nursery in my home has many of the coordinates used in the crib bedding.

I used some basic pattern pieces for the dress, with one exception. I wanted a more unique look to the shoulders and the back. I had tried it once before on a HKitty dress I made and took to my friend for a try on to make sure it worked. They loved it -- so it was fun to see and do again.

I'm always looking for custom sewing. Repetition is not my friend, which is why there are so many projects I'm into. The fun thing about fabric is that even though I may be sewing the same pattern .... it doesn't feel like it because each dress is made using a new pallet. It's always fun to see the end result. I can't wait to see some pictures of some lucky little girl(s) in this outfit!

It's a jungle out there!
Enjoy!!

Boutique Pretty Pups Dress

I have always loved loved loved this little Michael Miller pup print! This was also used for an On The Go set for Brayson several years ago .... and word from mom is that she LOVED that set ....

We love our dogs! We have 2 --- Bear, a little chocolate pom and Luke, a big Weimeraner. Also, currently living with us, are Neely and Mason .... Brittany's kids both of which are poms as well. Too many dogs! But, it is what it is.
Poor Luke was hit by a car earlier this year. The vet said that if he had been any smaller, he would not have made it. His broken leg has healed now .... but the cost was outrageous. We had to take him to an orthapedic specialist .... let's just say for the cost, he should have a bionic leg!

Anyway .... here's to the pup lovers out there .... can't wait to see this on someone!

Something to Cheer up the Blues _ Applique Heart or Valentine Outfit

The last two weeks have been wrought with familial challenges. The kind of stuff that just breaks your heart .... so I'm praying and keeping busy while mulling it all through. So the thought of some beautiful little girly girl prancing, twirling, and skipping along in this outfit makes me smile.... the star of the ball on Valentines Day for sure!

Ruffles, ruffles, layers of ruffles, tripple twirlability! Mix and match with other items in your closet ...

I made this several years ago ... it came back in the Tennessee box. I had just just purchased my embroidery machine and was trying to figure things out, without reading of course, AND trying to figure out embroidery software to create my own files. I had no idea what I was getting into and how much was out there! It's been a great learning experience and I enjoy digitizing, I probably should do more. Anyway -- this is what I created from that 1st learning experience.

Petal Hat

We love this petal hat! And think every little girls should have a seasonal hat -- we need to remember to protect those little eyes, ears, and head from the elements.
Fantastic hat for the outdoors with its wide rim. Anyway, Leila loves hers. I'm always behind the season though .... currently she's wearing the blue or red "earred cap", hat due to chilly weather in Texas... cute as a bug in a rug!

Have to run, it's office day!

Let's go to the Zoo in Ruffles!

Well, I've taken a lot of photos .... why can't I take good pictures? Well, we'll consider it a handicap and move on, for now. My current goal is to get all these beautiful and unique dresses photographed, sized, labeled, priced, and listed. I feel a bit overwhelmed along with a a bit of ---- I don't want to do this kind of stuff ... I just want to sew ..... so 1 a day until complete!

I love this fabric!

What a fun outfit/photo op for a fun filled day at the zoo!!!!
Or just a fun day out and about in total cuteness!

And I know a lucky little one will LOVE this outfit for a long long time. Can be worn as a dress or jumper, just add your own knit top underneath, if desired. Cute little crop length pant of course can be worn underneath or with your favorite knit top. Mix and match with what you already have.

Enjoy your day.

Today's Adventure and Sweet Heart Dress/Top

Well, I've had fun making of few ofthose bunnies, a kitten, and currently have in the works -- bunny in pink chenille & bunny in yellow minky dot. For some reason I don't have any yellow satin around here!

Anyway, a couple years ago (before the economy went south) my friend Tonya and I had a plan to make and sell little girls boutique clothing. I love to sew -- and she is great at everything else. But things happened, a layoff, a move back to her hometown far far away and a new life, a new job, and 2 kids (6 & 8) that are involved .... need I say more mothers out there? I digress, we were on track at one point and I got all the clothes that I had made out to her so she could put them on our little model and work the technology/inventory end of things. She finally (love you T) got about 1/2 of my dresses back to me ..... so today I'm ironing, taking pictures, checking sizes, tagging, and pricing .... have I ever said that I just want to sew? Would love to have a partner in crime!
Miss you ladies of USAT!

I finally finished this little dress. I've been working on it for awhile, played with options. Can be dressed up and down easily. I like the pattern, construction is pretty easy. Next one I make will have contrasting fabrics. Just wanted to see the design potential. So this one's for Leila this year, I can manage to get a ruffle or small contrast on her clothes (love you chica) -- chica does not like over the top, girly girl stuff for the girls. Which one if your favorite look?

Pics to come.

Kitty Travel Head Rest & Buddy

I couldn't resist trying this cute cute bunny I did yesterday in minky --- in chenille with satin inner ear and tail.... 2 different feels to the 2 fabrics .... minky is so soft and more silky feeling (man made fibers).... chenille has that boutique shabby chic look and is soft as well(cotton). I'm always preference curious! Which is your favorite? Minky or Chenille?

Also needed to make a kitty. Made this out of a pink Minky plush that originally, prior to washing, had rosettes all over the fabric. After washing, well .... the rosettes disappeared. Still soooo soft and silky!

Debating making the lamb .... should I finish out the set?

Hmmm....

Bunny Travel Napper

I wanted to try something totally new today. Call it a reward for getting the Treven set completed quickly. My mother saw this pattern and decided that it was unique, cute, and practical for travel.
Sew Baby Travel Nappers
3 animals - lamb, bunny, kitten
fits children from 2 - 12 years

On our way back to Houston this past new year's eve, I noticed that when Leila finally went to sleep for a little while-- that she did not have any support for her neck. My daughter had a small neck donut in the car but said that it's hard and overstuffed, not kid friendly so they don't use it. Meanwhile, little Leila's head is hanging from side to side looking oh so uncomfortable!

I made this first little bunny out of blue minky dot fabric and soft blue flannel plaid for inner ears and tail. Soooo soft! Lightly stuffed and cute!

We'll have to try it out and see if this passes snuff.

Firefighter 7 Piece Set - Treven -

It's so good to get back to sewing!
We have a new baby boy at the fire department. Here's what I came up with for baby Treven .....

I was out of "firefighter" themed fabric and really wanted to use fabric I already had. It just so happened that I had a new piece with a light yellow background and stripes with stars in blue and red. Once I found what I liked to go with it, off I went getting all the embroidery files together. (Most of the files I use are from DesignsbyJuJu). I love a large applique on the small blanket. I pull together possible files and find the font(s) I want to use and then spend hours upon hours making a beautiful one of a kind set.
Personalized tote bag, small blanket, reversible pocket bib, burp pad, silky/sofy, 2 burp cloths
